Moist Marble Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

For Cake:
– 225 g all-purpose flour
– 1 tsp baking soda
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 225 g granulated sugar
– 1 tbsp vanilla extract
– 3 eggs (room temperature)
– 1 tsp lemon zest
– 140 g oil
– 150 g sour cream (room temperature)

For Chocolate Batter:
– 4 tbsp cocoa powder
– 3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
– 1/2 tsp espresso powder

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare a loaf pan:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.Lightly grease a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.

2. Prepare Wet Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, sour cream, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and oil until well combined.

3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

4. Incorporate Dry into Wet:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

5. Prepare Chocolate Batter:
Pour half of the batter into another bowl. Add cocoa powder, milk (or espresso), and espresso powder to the remaining batter in the mixing bowl. Beat on high until thoroughly combined.

6. Layer the Batter:
Using a 1/4 cup scoop, alternate scooping vanilla and chocolate batter into the pan, creating layers.

7. Bake the Cake:
Smooth the top of the batter with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
